Illinois Solar For All is a state program that benefits income-eligible and environmental justice communities in Illinois. The State of Illinois offers this program to meet its renewable energy goals and to bring the expansion of solar energy to income-eligible communities. With state and utility funding, Illinois Solar For All pays incentives to solar companies and passes the savings onto income-eligible households, non-profit organizations and public facilities.
Illinois Solar For All (ILSFA), established by the Future Energy Jobs Act in 2016 and expanded by the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act in 2021 , helps make solar installations more affordable for income-eligible households and organizations located in income-eligible and environmental justice communities throughout Illinois. Homeowners, residents of income-eligible properties, facilities for non-profit organizations and religious institutions are eligible for program incentives.
With Illinois Solar for All, participants will see no or low upfront costs and fees will not exceed 50% of the value generated from the solar PV system. With state and utility funding, the program pays incentives to solar companies and passes the cost savings to participants. Illinois Solar For All is administered by Elevate Energy on behalf of the Illinois Power Agency, and independent state government agency.

StraightUp Solar is proud to have hired individuals from the Illinois Solar For All training programs and continues to participate in the training pipeline. For a 74.9kW installation at Heaven View Christian Fellowship in Peoria, StraightUp Solar installation team included graduates of the Solar Pipeline Training Program. This program, a partnership between Community Transformation Partnership, Jobs Partnership Peoria, Tri-County Urban League and Illinois Central College, provided hands-on training for future solar installers. Additional solar workforce training programs under Illinois Solar For All are sprouting up all across the state.
