Tori W.

Tori joined the StraightUp Solar team in 2020. Her interest in the solar industry began when she started the Environmental Science program at Des Moines Area Community College in 2012. Through this program she learned about renewable energy systems such as wind, solar, and hydro applications. This shifted her focus to a more hands-on approach and soon she began her pursuit to become an electrician. Through Job Corps in New York, Tori obtained her certification in electrical and NABCEP Associate certification. Since then she has gained experience in residential, commercial and utility work. Although she originally started the Environmental Science program to become a park ranger, she felt that her journey and original purpose led her to work in the solar field so she can still protect endangered ecosystems.

Tori’s hobbies include painting, furniture up-cycling, spending time with her family, and gardening.

Tori stated “Being a part of the StraightUp Solar team is a chance to make a difference in the lives of customers, the local environment and making a positive impact on global greenhouse gases.”
