On December 10, 2021 StraightUp Solar was inducted into the 2021 Class of the St. Louis Green Business Challenge at the Champion Level. We are honored to be recognized for the work we do to make our future better for people and the planet. Since 2010, over 250 companies and organizations have taken the challenge to grow their triple bottom line (environmental, social, fiscal) for a better tomorrow. StraightUp Solar has been part of this community since 2010, and we are excited to be at Champion level once again.
Some of our accomplishments this year in the St. Louis Metro Area included inspiring 56 homes to go solar through Grow Solar St. Louis and Metro East. 457 kW of solar power will be installed, and will reduce CO2 emissions by 901,000 pounds in the first year. Our 99kW solar PV system at our headquarters generates 107,500 kilowatt-hours of solar energy for our operations. Our service vehicles run on sunshine through electric charging stations attached to our solar PV system. We provided educational opportunities through webinars about solar technology, how to go Net Zero, and public policy changes affecting solar homeowners.
In addition to these accomplishments, StraightUp Solar is proud to be a founding partner of the St. Louis Solar Workforce Training Project with the City of St. Louis, IBEW and Employment Connections. Our StraightUp Solar Legacy Fund provides financing to churches and non-profits to go solar, and our team is deeply ingrained in our community by volunteering for Forest ReLEAF, sponsoring of Environmental Justice efforts with EarthDay-365, and advocating for proactive solar policy with MOSEIA and ISEA.
This dedication to our community and our people makes us Champions day in and day out. We appreciate this recognition from the St. Louis Green Business Challenge.
