Our story began on a mountaintop with an orthopedic surgeon. Founder Dr. Dane Glueck’s passion for solar was sparked during his medical residency in the Appalachian region of Kentucky, where he experienced how the ongoing destruction of the region by coal mining withered the health and vitality of the community.

When Dane returned to St. Louis post-residency, alongside his medical practice he built StraightUp Solar to further care for his community. His vision was to change the energy paradigm and give people choice in their energy source.

Now 18 years later, StraightUp Solar is 100+ employees strong and still under the same ownership, a track record few other local companies can match. Our solar experts live and work in the communities we serve, bringing 2,800 solar projects to light for our neighbors.
