Kathy added a 7.67 kW to her home in 2018 as part of the Midwest Renewable Energy Association’s Solar Urbana Champaign 3.0 program. This solar array is expected to have a cashflow payback in about 12 years. This means that in 12 years Kathy will be done paying back the system and she can just reap the benefits. The energy savings is expected to be about $730 in the first year. How great is that?!
