NOTS Logistics
Nashville, IL
NOTS Logistics is a family-owned logistics company in Southern Illinois, providing warehousing, transportation, distribution, and workforce management services across the Midwest. To control rising energy costs and support continued growth, NOTS Logistics explored alternative energy solutions for their warehouse operations. Working with their energy consultant, Affordable Gas & Electric (AGE), they partnered with StraightUp Solar to implement multiple warehouse solar installations across several of their Illinois facilities, reducing electricity usage, improving long-term cost stability, and strengthening their operational efficiency.

Solar Story
Challenge: Rising Energy Demand Across Multiple Warehouses
NOTS Logistics operates large warehouse facilities supporting warehousing, transportation, customized distribution, and workforce management. As energy demand increased across their operations, leadership knew they couldn’t simply maintain the status quo. As President & CEO Andy Kirshner explains, improvement is a daily requirement, and energy strategy was part of that equation.
Solution: Coordinated Warehouse Solar Strategy
Consulting with AGE, NOTS Logistics evaluated energy usage across each warehouse, identifying opportunities not only to manage supply rates but to reduce overall consumption. Solar emerged as a practical solution to offset rising electrical needs while leveraging available state and federal incentives. As a trusted commercial solar installer in Illinois and Missouri, the chose StraightUp Solar to design and install solar arrays across several warehouse rooftops, delivering a cohesive, multi-facility solar solution.
Professional, Streamlined Installation Process
Throughout the project, coordination and communication were critical. From engineering through installation, StraightUp Solar worked closely with both NOTS Logistics and AGE to keep the process efficient and disruption-free. Finance Director David Finney noted that whether working with project managers or engineers, the process felt straightforward and seamless—making it easy for the business to move forward with confidence.
Kevin Brink, Vice President of Business Development, shares, “StraightUp Solar has been a fantastic partner. They understand their product and they’re willing to work with you as a business.”
Results: Cost Control & Long-Term Stability
The completed solar projects offset a significant amount of electricity used across NOTS Logistics’ Illinois warehouses. With significant savings predicted over the lifetime of these solar systems and long-term energy stability, solar has become a foundational part of their operational strategy.
“I definitely would recommend StraightUp Solar to other businesses. They’re very professional, they answered all of our questions, and were there from the start to the finish.”
