COMMERCIAL MONITORING TECHNICIAN
Prior to joining SUS, Hector studied environmental sciences and natural resources management at the National University of Agriculture (UNA) in Honduras. In 2009, he was selected for the Study of the United States Institute on the Environment (SUSIE) program at Oregon State University. In 2010, he completed a research internship at North Carolina State University. Additionally, he spent ten months in an undergraduate study at Humboldt State University.
Once he returned to Honduras, he was hired by UNA. There, he spent several years working on research and teaching about sustainability. In 2014, he started his Master’s in Sustainable Energy at Eastern Illinois University.
Hector noted his “passion for the environment and sustainability facilitate[d] my way to Straight Up Solar. Now I plan to learn about solar energy and contribute to this amazing organization and the community.”
