Adam K.

Adam joined StraightUp Solar with a degree in accounting from SIUE and 3 years accounting work at a major corporation in St. Louis. Like so many others that work for StraightUp Solar, he decided to pursue his passion for sustainable energy as a new career path. Adam tells us he want to play a role in “changing the way we power the country”.

Adam grew up working on a cattle farm in Illinois and knows about being outdoors and working with his hands. He worked construction during college. He realized that doing that work for a living would make him much happier, so after taking a course on solar electricity, he applied with StraightUp Solar. We are proud to share that Adam continues his solar studies at StraightUp, and that he earned his NABCEP PV Installation Professional Certification in 2017.

Adam said once that getting his new job as one of our installers allowed him to “feel I am contributing to a better world”. Adam still lives his passion for the land as well. In his spare time, he and his wife are experimenting with aquaponics as a more sustainable way to grow food.
