This position is 80% field based. Solar experience required. Advanced knowledge of installation/code required. The Field Project Coordinator (FPC) is responsible for owning the field operations/installation side of their assigned projects ensuring that they are installed safely, accurately, completely and within the estimated timeline.
If hired, relocation assistance is available to move to the Bloomington/ Normal, IL area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

FPCs are responsible for reviewing all new projects that have been submitted by the Project Manager.

Meetings – mandatory attendance at various weekly meetings.

Technical Onsite Evaluations (TOS) – The FPC obtains all of the necessary data needed for Design Team to finalize the project’s system designs. This includes roof photos/measurements/assessment, Pathfinder photos, attic photos/structural information, electrical panel, inverter location, conduit path, Cat5 to inverter plan or Monitoring plan, etc. If a ground-mount array, the slope at the array site must be analyzed.

Installation Prep – Equipment & Digging – The FPC is responsible for evaluating sites for equipment needs. FPCs are responsible for scheduling and renting any necessary equipment for a project as well as delivering the equipment if needed. FPCs are also responsible for requesting wire wraps. FPCs should schedule and communicate timelines for any necessary utility line flagging through JULIE or Dig Rite.

Installation Crew Support – The FPC is responsible for supporting the crew onsite. This includes fielding phone calls and texts from the installers and answering any questions they may have, filling manpower shortages, a particularly challenging situation, new racking or process, and if an experienced person is needed to get the project started, etc. Whenever possible or on site the FPC must verify the installation crews are adhering to the safety standards of the company.

Quality Control – FPCs must conduct quality control visits to jobsites.

Job Folder – It is the FPC’s responsibility to provide the necessary stickers and placards (standard & custom) to the job folder and to verify that the PM has provided all of the other necessary items and information.

Subcontractor Coordination – The FPC is responsible for communicating with subcontractors regarding installation information and timeline during installation. The FPC must provide the project information and verify the sub contractor is submitting the required checklists.

Checklists – The FPC must verify that all installation checklists have been completed fully, accurately and submitted by the crew in a timely manner. This includes making sure the customer’s monitoring portal is created and functioning properly.

Inspections/Utility Commissioning/Final Walk-Throughs/Monitoring- FPCs are responsible for sitting for any inspections or commissioning that take place after the crew has left the site. The FPC is responsible for notifying the PM that the project is officially complete and meets SUS standards. The FPC is also responsible for setting up the customer’s web-based monitoring system/portal.

Project Changes During Installation – If any changes are made to the design of a project during the installation phase, it is the FPC’s responsibility to ensure the other project stakeholders (design, procurement, PM, etc.) are notified. This includes but is not limited to, interconnection methods, module movements, remote disconnects and placards.
