StraightUp Solar, a fast-growing, locally-owned solar installation company, is seeking a Full Time A/R Accounting Specialist for its St. Louis, MO office. Qualified candidates should be self-motivated and demonstrate attention to detail and accountability. They should also enjoy multitasking as a problem solver in a fast-paced dynamic team environment.

Position Information:

  • Department: Procurement/Accounting/Warehouse Services
  • Full Time: An estimated 40-45 hours per week depending on the time of year.
  • Pay Structure: $28-31/hour with overtime (over 40 hours) at time and a half
  • Education: Associates, Bachelors preferred
  • Experience: Min. of 3-5 years Accounting (Service and/or Construction Industry with QuickBooks a plus)
  • Work Schedule: 7:30 AM Start Time, 5 Days Per Week – M-F (May require an occasional early start for select crew meetings)
  • Not eligible for remote work classification.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Credit Card Management and select high level A/P
  • Journal Entries and Account Reconciliation (QuickBooks Certified a plus)
  • Accounting strategies and process improvement to maximize efficiencies
  • Monitor project cash flow and communicate with project management on milestones
  • Ensure timely updates and reconciliation on project P&Ls
  • Support internal audits
  • Proficient with Excel files
  • Attend planning/project/service meetings as necessary to support project management needs
  • Articulate with team members to ensure project completion efficiently.
  • Participate in Month-end/Year-end closing tasks
  • Daily interaction with accounting, project management, service and inventory management software and processes.
  • Assist with journal entries, new accounting processes, and integration
  • Perform special project requests pertaining to financial management

What We’re Looking For:

We are seeking an individual with strong A/R bookkeeping experience (QuickBooks Enterprise Contractor Edition (QBE) is a plus), MS Office and Google Suite experience, and working knowledge of CRM software programs. The right individual would have a good understanding of accounts receivable with accrual basis accounting and deferred revenue recognition. Experience with detailed job costing.

  • Critical/Pivotal Role requiring exceptional attendance and reliability.
  • Maintain pace intensity to match the needs of all field, service, and accounting support initiatives.
  • Great computer technology skills, CRM experience, MS office, and Google apps such as Gmail. Excel proficient including Pivot Tables & VLOOKUP.
  • Outstanding communication and follow-up skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be highly organized with extreme attention to detail for logging and communicating detailed information.
  • Present a consistent positive attitude and exceptional teamwork.
  • Strong ability to manage numerous priorities, multitask, and follow through on assigned tasks and projects.
  • Superior self-awareness, accountability, confidence, and poise while juggling numerous tasks and responsibilities.
  • Proven track record highlighting examples of being a self-starter while requiring minimal supervision.
  • Solution-minded, always looking for ways to improve efficiency, communication, logistical solutions and processes, continuous improvement.
  • Previous experience in the solar industry and/or construction accounting is a plus.
  • Clean driving record with reliable transportation.
