WE CARE Solar
Shannon Fulton StraightUp Solar Director of Business Development, has been a Solar Ambassador with WeCare Solar, a non-profit focused on reducing infant mortality by equipping off-grid medical clinics in developing countries with solar power for lighting and emergency communication, since 2012.
Her missions to bring solar electricity to maternity clinics have brought her to Uganda, Eritrea, and most recently Nepal.
Shannon joined Dr. Laura Stachel, Co-founder of WeCare Solar on a mission to provide relief to Nepal in the wake of the recent earthquake and aftershock events.
They traveled across the world to provide training and support to One Heart Worldwide team members whose mission is to install over 100 Solar Suitcases, a hallmark life-saving solar system by WeCare Solar in maternal health clinics where medical facilities have been largely destroyed.
The One Heart Worldwide team will install the suitcases and train local clinic staff on how to use, maintain, and educate others about the systems.
