What is a Tribe:

•A tribe is a group of people connected to one another, connected to a leader, and connected to an idea.

•A group needs two things to be a tribe: shared interest and ways to communicate

What is the StraightUp Solar Tribe:

At StraightUp Solar building a sustainable and self-sustaining communities is core to our mission, vision and values. Today we have expanded our efforts by creating new partnerships with past clients and community members. We hope that this new community based partnership will plant a seed that grows into a fully functioning non-profit dedicated to providing solar for those most in need. The tribe is meant to be a platform to foster communication for our shared interest in empowering local sustainable communities.

You can be a part of the process. Help us determine the size, scope, and number of projects. Help us find the communities that will benefit the most. Help us make solar a lifestyle and not just a business relationship. We promise to share our institutional knowledge and premier labor force to help transform our community one house and one block at a time.

The solar tribe will be made up of a mixed board of Clients, Advocates, Community Leaders, and StraightUp Solar staff. On August 8th 2013, StraightUp hosted the inagural event to start us down the road together. Only with your help an active participation will we be able to grow this group. Please contact us to learn how to become involved by emailing

Over the years we have supported many causes. Locally we have given to causes to preserve our natural environment and advocate for policies that create new green jobs. Internationally, we have given to causes the provide solar for schools and womens health facilities. You can read more about our local and international causes here. In particular we would like to call you attention to We Care Solar – a non-profit using solar to power facilities that save the lives of women and babies during childbirth.
